changing my system from ME to Microsoft....

i have Window's ME, and outlook express. i do not like
either. i want to change my computer to Microsoft XP
professional......i want to use Microsoft Outlook, etc.
is this possible? i do not want to lose my files that i
currently use. is it possible to merge my system?

Yes, you can certainly do this. You'd have to buy a copy of Outlook,
though -- it's not free like Outlook Express, and it isn't included with
Windows. You can either buy Outlook as a standalone product or you can
buy a copy of the Office suite and it will include Outlook.

If you decide to do this, make sure you back up all your important data,
including Outlook Express files, before you upgrade your operating
system. (The files won't necessarily be lost in the upgrade, but
anything can happen -- better to be safe than sorry.) Once you've
upgraded to Windows XP, you can import your Outlook Express data files
back into Outlook Express, and then once you install Outlook, you can
export the data from OE to Outlook. The following site can help with
