Changing Name For a Status Manager

We have a Status Manager who changed their last name and has requested
Project Server be updated with the new last name. The Status Manager is
allocated to approximately 30 published project plans only as a Status
Manager, not a Resource

I am concerned about the impact of changing the User record to reflect the
new last name including the user logon account (this has already been changed
on the network by the System Admins so they must have linked the old and new
accounts since she can still logon to Project Server with the new last name
even though I have not changed the user record logon account)

What is the best way to update her user record without adversely impacting
the already Published Project Plans?

Hopefully the sysadmin renamed the existing account name and did not create a
new account. if this is the case simply change the surname in Project
Server. The accounts are bound by GUIDs and not display name, so this will
not have any impact. if a new account in AD has been created, then you'll
have to go through each project and replace the resources.

Thank you for the response - unfortunately a new AD account was created and
the user cannot currently log in to Project Server at all so I will have to
do maintenance on all the project plans.
