Changing number & text in a list style

M

minderella

I'm trying to create custom list styles. I'm very happy with what I've done
so far, except that I would like the 1st level text to be bold and a
different size font. When I set this up in the Modify Style dialog box, it
seems like it's only modifying the Letter/Number of the list, and not the
corresponding text for that level.

Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

You will have to apply the font to the text separately. A list style
stores only *numbering* formatting (including the font attributes of
each numbering level).

It will be easier to set up numbering linked to styles (one for each
level), as explained at
http://www.shaunakelly.com/word/numbering/OutlineNumbering.html. Note
that you can use any set of styles, not necessarily the built-in
headings, to create your outline-numbered list.
