Changing Numbering of Paragraphs with VBA

I am editing some multiple choice questions and would like to renumber
the questions. The questions are currently not numbered sequentially
as shown below. I need to change (for example) question 8 to question
1, question 14 to question 2, and so forth in sequence. How can I do
this with VBA? I do not want to change the answer options.

Applying a numbered style to the paragraphs in question would seem to be
the easiest approach. If you do a wildcard search, you could also delete
the typed in numbers in the process.
