Changing numbers in Forms

I want to add a changing number to a form developed in Word X. I want
this number to start with 0001 and go to infinity. I have tried
inserting different fields that are custom in the program, and have
not been able to get the number to change upon saving the document and
then reopening it.

I know this is possible, but I am having difficulty getting my Mac to
perform this operation.

Thanks

Insert>Field>Document Information>Info>RevNum... That provides a number
that increments each Save. Look it up in the help under RevNum Field Codes.

You need to apply a numeric picture clause to it: look these up in the help
topic "General Switches".

You will get a field code that looks like this: {INFO REVNUM \# 000}

Cheers
