Changing of location crash my Office2003

Hi.
I have user that is running WinXP and Office2003. When he tries to save a
document in another place than the default directory, the whole process frees
and the program stops responding. The same happens when moving a file from
one place to another using Windows Explorer.

When I am testing with notepad, I have no problems to change the location
where I want.

How can I solve this problem?

I am experiencing the same problem...within the last few days. I uninstalled
and reinstalled 2003...no help. I removed it and loaded Office XP Pro 2002
and the same hang-up problem exists.

If you have found a fix, please let me know...or hopefully someone will help
us both.

In the last 2 days I,ve had 2 different clients at 2 different sites complain
about this same issue... One using XP the other windows 2000... It happens
specifically everytime they try to access a file or directory on the network
server instead of the local drive... The temporary work arround is to have
them open through my computer and save locally... I will post a fix as soon
as I get one....

This might solve your problem.
In my case, A disk fragmentation did the trick.
