Changing Page numbers

Angela

I have an 80-page document, with a different subject
titles on each page. I have decided to give each subject
a reference number. I would like to put this document in
order according to the new reference numbers. This means
changing page 75 to page 13, or changing page 9 to page
60. Is there a function in word that will let me change
a page number to a new page number without coping and
pasting text and moving it?

If you've used heading styles and have put the number at the beginning of
the heading, you can use Outline view for this. Display just the top-level
heading (the one with the number) and use Table | Sort | By Number. This
will sort the headings in numerical order, and the associated text will move
with them.
