Changing path of PST file

A

Allaire Smith

I'd like to change the file system location of the Outlook 2000 .PST file
that contains my Personal Folders. Though this can be accomplished with
Outlook Express by changing the location of the message store, I can't seem
to find how to do this with Outlook itself. Does someone know the procedure
or where it is documented?

Also, I want to copy this PST file to another machine (that I am building as
a replacement) and have it become the Personal Folders on the Outlook 2000
installation on that machine. I assume that I could just do whatever works
for the path change alluded to above?

Just do it. Shut down Outlook. Move the file, then restart Outlook. Tell Outlook where the file went.
