Changing Permissions on an object

Hello - How do I change permissions on an object? I inherited a database and the security the first programmer put on certain objects does not allow me to open or edit the object. Any help would be appreciated!!

most likely, you need to be the OWNER of the objects. You will either need
to sign on with the owner's password, or create a new database and drag all
the objects to it. If you can't even open the object, you may be out of
luck.
