I have MS Picture It Publisher 2000. I edited picture from a diac (CD) wit
hAdobe 2.0 and then made a collage with Picture It. I saved the files to my
computer after editing them. Now I am building my first ever website and it
will only accept either gif or jpg and Picture It files will not work on
there. How do I change the file extention to gif or jpg in order to make the
pictures usable on my website?
HELP!!!!!

Wrong program. That's Picture It! not Publisher.

If I recall correctly ...........when you go to save it, change the file
type from the default .mix to a .jpg. (My mom uses that program and I've
helped her with it.)

Thank you. Can I go back into saved file and rename them as jpg or do I have
to save them all over again?

Renaming a file will not change it from one type to another. You must go
back to the program you originally used to create the picture, load the
picture you saved, and save it as a new picture in the correct format.

You might be able to do this in a different graphics program if it
understands the format of the file, but the program you used the first time
is the best option.

The bad news is that you have to do each one individually. The good news is
............ well, that it *can* be done. (That's the only good news I could
think of - it's late.)

The format must be changed and simply
renaming the file won't accomplish that.

With the file open in the work area of the
program that created it...go to...
File / Save As...

On your Save As screen, open the
"Save As Type" drop window and
choose...JPEG.

Also, choose a folder to save the file in
and give the file a new name if you wish.

Tip: Saving a file in a different format will
not replace the original so now you will
have two files.
