Changing Product ID

How do I change the product ID for an installed version of Visio?

I cannot activate my current copy because it was installed with the wrong
product id. I have a valid id but cannot figure out how to change the one
that is there. There seems to be no help pages available for this.

Exactly what error message do you get when you try to activate? If you're
referring to the product ID and not the product key, re-installing will
create a different product ID (the last set of numbers). Usually, deleting
or renaming the Office license file helps resolve issues when trying to
activate. In Visio 2007, it's opa12.dat, in 2003 it's opa11.dat, and in
2002 it's data.dat.
