Changing Recurrence Pattern Destroys Meeting History

K

Kurt Kroninger

I am the organizer for a recurring meeting that occurs
the first Wednesday of every month, started back in 2002,
no end date. I need to change it so it occurs the last
Thursday of every month starting with July (2003). I open
the series and change the recurrence pattern. If I leave
the start date as is, all occurences including those in
the past change to the new day of the month. If I change
the start date to the first date of the change (July 31,
2003 in this case) all meetings in the series that
occured prior to that date disappear! Either way, history
is either changed or deleted. Am I missing something or
is this how it is supposed to work? Am I the only person
who thinks calendar history is important? Please help.

You need to edit the current recurring meeting so that the
last occurrence ends on 06/30/2003. Copy and paste the
last occurence to the start of the new date. Then edit
the new occurence with the new start / stop (if necessary)
date. If you don't have a lot of data in the occurence,
you can by-pass the copy and paste function and just
create a new occurence all together.

Good Luck!
