Changing Room Wall Thickness

Help! In the Home Plan menu can the standard room be altered for wall
thickness & colour and still retain the properties so the room size can be
altered in properties. To alter wall thickness so far I need to ungroup the
wall which breaks the link to the master so losing the properties
availability to define the room size.

I don't have access to that particular stencil, but, you might try this:
Select your floor plan and then right click, on pop-up menu > Format >
Behavior, then change the selection property from Group Only to Group First.
This will preserve the grouping behavior and allow acess to the nested
sub-shapes.

Now, 1st click selects the entire group. 2nd or 3rd click you can select the
Walls. Then, right click, Data > Shape Data. Menu should show all of the
wall attributes.
