Changing sa password and Windows A/C used to run SQLServer service

I first of want to say that I am not a ProjectServer or SharePoint expert. I
am a DBA who has been 'roped' into the setup of these. As such please accept
my apologies if I do not describe things quite as I should.

We have 2 server configuration for ProjectServer 2003; one server houses
only the databases (ProjectServer, SharePoint config DB, etc.) and one that
houses the application side of ProjectServer (IIS, SharePoint services, etc.).

The initial setup was done when we did not know much about the product and
we used the 'sa' account for configuring the various database access settings.

We now want to change the 'sa' password as well as the Windows account used
to run the SQLServer services. We have change what seem to be the obvious
settings in the Web based admin tool for ProjectServer and SharePoint but we
still get problems with accessing certain SharePoint related as well as
varioud ProjetcServer related areas.

Project Web Access seems to work fine but it is other areas that we are
having problems with (things like SharePoint projects and documents, etc.).

Ideally we don't want to use 'sa' but another user altogether.

Does anyone out there (ideally from Microsoft themselves) have any idea if
there are settings 'hard-coded' in the ProjectServer or SharePoint config
databases that explictly mention 'sa' or the Windows account used to run the
SQLServer services.

Also, has anyone tried to do any of this following the initial setup of
their systems ?

Any help and insight into this would be greatly appreciated as I seem to
have to a dead-end.

Regards,

Peter Apostolakopoulos.
