Changing sort order of "name" in Contacts

The "Name" field (which I prefer to the indiviual "first" and "last" fields) is sorting by last name. I would like to change this behavior to sort by first. Can this be done?

So far, I'm disappointed in Entourage. It's so... uncustomizable

Yes, you can.

If you customise the View so that First Name is visible, you can then sort
on it.

I put it right at the end of the row so it's off the screen. I look at the
"combined" name field, but I sort (in my case, by last name) by a field I am
not looking at.
