Changing text colour GPF

Selecting data in a single cell, Excel returns a GPF when
we try to change its colour. Can't find any reference to
the problem in the tech files.

The message reads:

Excel caused a general protection fault in module
HPBF3120.DRW at 001a:000068b0

We can change the colour of the text on every computor
linked to this one (our main system)but it won't change
text colour in any worksheet.

We are using Excel 2000 on Win98.

I'm at a loss. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
