Changing the cursor size

There is a user at my workplace who's cursor in Word (2003) is half the
size it should be. They are using Arial font size 12. If you increase
the font size to even bigger the cursor still stays tiny. Nobody here
can work out the problem, so I'm just wondering if anyone else might
know.

Try switching to 500% Zoom and back.
