Changing the default paper size - Pub 2k

I can't find any information anywhere about how to change the default paper
size in pub 2k (or excel).

I inherited 6 computers which have all been haphazardly thrown together and
I'm gradually changing all the settings etc to a user friendly standard...

I found instructions for Word, but Excel and Pub both still default to
Letter...

I don't have access to the install media or codes, or any newer versions.

Can this even be done - I would think that this would be a common problem...

Publisher takes its default paper size from the default printer driver. If
you adjust the print settings on the default printer, then you can set the
paper size to anything you want.

Hmm, it may be that I have an old version of publisher, but it doesn't seem
to be doing this... The printer is set to A4, but pub keeps loading with
letter as the default. I have Pub2k version...

Do you have your regional settings correct? Microsoft Publisher bases all its
basic information (date, date format, time, time format, currency format,
language, number format, country, keyboard, and measurement) on the Regional
settings in the Control Panel.
Have you set the page size in the printer folder rather than in Publisher?
(Right click your printer, click printing preferences.)
