Changing the font in a navigation bar

How do I change the font used in a vertical navigation bar as created by a
theme.

I have changed the image of the buttons and the colour of the text but I
cant figure out how to change the font as the text page of the theme, unlike
the others, doesn't appear to have an entry for vertical navigation
