Changing the form for existing contacts in Public Contact folder

Question about article: Q201089

The download contains a word document (Omsgclas) that has
a macro for changing the form for existing contacts. The
documentation states: "Note that this utility has been
designed for Microsoft Outlook 97 and Outlook 98 (versions
8.0, 8.01, 8.02, 8.03 and 8.5). Using this utility on
future versions of Outlook may cause unpredictable
results."

I am using office XP pro on a Win2k SBS network. As the
administrator I am asked to create a new form and change
the existing contacts in the public folder to use the new
published form.

I have tried to complete the instructions of the
downloaded word document w/ said macro but I am not able
to get it to work. Could this be that the macro was not
intended to be used with this newer version of office?

Your assistance is greatly needed!!

I am not a programmer and am not able to "tinker" with the
code to get it to perform the needed tasks. I followed
the link provided and followed several sublinks from that
page. There are plenty of references from that link that
point to pages that seem to have the answer. So far the
best I could find was a tool in the office 2000 resource
kit but because I have office XP the download will not
install. I will continue to look but I would be greatful
for a direct link to a download for said software and
versions.

Thank you.

There's no reason it shouldn't be adaptable to any version, but you'll find
other tools listed at

Try the Doc Message Class tool. Or as the page you visited suggests, use
WinZip to extract the .msi installation file from the Office Resource Kit
tool.
