Changing the message object

Hi everyone,

I would have thought this is a basic one, but I can't find the answer here
(maybe it's too basic !). Well, how can I change the object of a message I
received ? With Outlook 2000, I could do that (in the "Action" menu), with
Outlook 2003 I don't see the item. I understand it can raise some kind of
integrity problem to modify a message, but what else can you do when you
receive mails, often with attachments, which all have the same object and you
have to archive them ?

What do you mean by "the object of a message"?

Hi,

Well, in French, "objet du message", I meant the title of the message, the
one that you can read with outlook without opening the message body.

Interesting, because in English, that would be the subject of the message (and "subject" is considered the opposite of "object" in some contexts).

In any case, if you open the message in its own window, you can type in a new subject. You can also create a table view of any folder that has in-cell editing turned on, allowing you to change the subject by typing into the cell in the view.

Great ! I just didn't think I could change the subject (!!!) so easily. And
you know, even in French, "objet" and "sujet" can be exact opposites, but,
hey, that's how it is ... And you made me discover in-cell editing by the way.
Thanks again !
