changing the owner of an appointment...

We have an employee that is no longer with the company.
She has a bunch of appointments that she scheduled for
others. Is there any way of transfering the ownership of
these appointments? If possible, this would be much better
than deleting and recreating all of these appointments.

I have tried logging in as the user, but I cannot change
the organizer. Also tried changing permissions in Exchange
System Manager (BTW...using Exchange 2000)...any ideas?
can this even be done?
