Changing units of measure

A

Amber

This seems like a fairly basic question - but can someone tell me how to change the unit of measure on PPT to centimetres as it is currently set on inches? Thanks.

Hi Amber,

This one gets nearly everyone from time to time, unless they live in the US,
home of PowerPoint ;-)

PowerPoint ruler shows inches instead of centimetres. Or vice versa.

Now, we just have to teach them how to spell "centimetres" ;-)

[CRITICAL UPDATE - Anyone using Office 2003 should install the critical
update as soon as possible. From PowerPoint, choose "Help -> Check for
Updates".]

Hello,

PowerPoint for Windows (all versions) does not have the ability to change
the units of measurement from within the application and, instead, relies
on the "Measurement System" from the "Regional and Languange
Options"control panel.

If it's important to you (or anyone else reading this message) PowerPoint
to provide the ability to control the units of measurement from directly
within PowerPoint as either a PowerPoint setting or a per-presentation
setting, don't forget to send your feedback (in YOUR OWN WORDS, please) to
Microsoft at:

http://register.microsoft.com/mswish/suggestion.asp

As with all product suggestions, it's important that you not just state
your wish but also WHY it is important to you that your product suggestion
be implemented by Microsoft. Microsoft receives thousands of product
suggestions every day and we read each one but, in any given product
development cycle, there are only sufficient resources to address the ones
that are most important to our customers so take the extra time to state
your case as clearly and completely as possible.

IMPORTANT: Each submission should be a single suggestion (not a list of
suggestions)
