Changing Working Time

Hi! Hopefully someone will have a simple answer for this!

I have recently set up a new MS Project server. I am in the process of
setting up the individual resource calendars (to allow for things like
vacations, classes, etc, when they will not be available work on projects.

When I open the enterprise resource pool (in ms project 2003), select a
resource, and begin to go through the steps, I get to a point where the next
step is to "Change Working Time" (this shows up in a wizard on the left side
of the screen...at least I think that is a wizard). When I click the link
"change working time" nothing happens and MS Project 2003 app simply locks
up. All I can do is kill the process at this point.

Any idea what may be "up" ?

Thanks for any guidance?

If the Project Guide is crashing while you try to enter nonworking time for
resources, you can open the Enterprise Resource Pool, check out the
resources, and then enter the nonworking time manually by performing these
steps:

1. Double-click the name of a resource with nonworking time
2. Click the Working Time tab
3. Select the time period in which the resource has nonworking time
4. Click the Nonworking time option in the upper right corner
5. Click the Notes tab
6. Enter a note documenting the instance of nonworking time
7. Repeat steps #3-6 for each nonworking time instance
8. Click OK
9. Repeat steps #1-8 for every resource with nonworking time
10. Save and close the Enterprise Resource Pool

You do not need to use the Project Guide for entering nonworking time, as
you previously tried to do. Hope this helps.

Thanks, Dale...I shall give this a try and post back here the results!

Dale: That worked just fine, so we will simply use that process, going
forward. Wish we knew why Project would hang like that, tho...makes us a bit
nervous :)

We did run in to a residual problem tho. As you recall, we were getting
"hung" using the old process. All resources that we checked out, and that
were accessed after the application "hung" are now not able to be checked in,
in any way that we can determine, and thus, we are not able to update those
calendars. Thoughts?

Thanks again for all the great help!
