Changing working times

I am trying to set up a schedule where everyone is working 5 days/week, 8 hours/day for the design phase. When we go to the construction phase I want to go to a 6 days/week, 12 hours/day.
The problem is that when I put in the information and work with the durations to get the start and finish days that I want the program is telling me that I have 82 days between February 2 and April 5, even though I have changed the working times on the Standard(Project Schedule) to 6 (12 hour) days for the time framer in question
If I change the general settings under Tools/Options/Calendar to use the 6 (12 hour) days, then the design phase of my schedule has 43 days between October 2 and December 31.
Is there any way to set this up so that the duration time logically matches the start and finish dates?

Hi,

In construction projects I usually have two schedules, one for design, the
other for construction. This lets you have two different calendars.

If you still want one schedule, then in Tools, Change Working time, create a
new base calendar called Construction that is 6 working days. \Select View,
Resource Sheet and set the calendar for each construction resource to be
Construction. Now all construction resource work the hours in the
Construction calendar and design staff work the hours in the Standard
calendar.

Note that the menu Tools/Options/Calendar does NOT change the working
times. It's a table of conversion factors and only changes the
definition of a project standard "day."
