Chapter/section numbers?

Hi... How do I get Word 2004 to show the chapter (which is section) numbers
at the top/first page of each chapter/section (but not in the header)? Thank

If you don't want to show the number in the header, where *do* you want
to show it? It sounds to me like you want to show it in the heading
itself. In that case, just use the automatic numbering feature. You can
add numbering to the header style, or you can manually insert SEQ fields
in each heading (I prefer the latter approach). Search the online help
under "number headings". m.
