character spacing w/ justify is incorrect

Medical transcription personnel started having problems w/ printed
documents. A paragraph has inconsistent character spacing on the
printed copy that is not seen on the screen. The paragraph has the
justify button selected, not centered or right/left justify but the
other justify. The personnel tell me it used to work ok but now the
spacing is messed up and some parts of sentences are hard to read
because of the inconsistent spacing within and between words. It is
printer independent, I have printed copies to all the different HP
printers on my network and the spacing error is consistent.
