character that is not delete-able

I have a comma (",") in a footer that I can't get rid of. I've tried
deleting, backspacing, changing formatting.

In the short-term, I've changed the comma's font color to white, so that it
is not visible, but this is a very important document that I need to send to
others, and I don't want this comma sitting there.

If it's a field of some sort, you may not be able to delete it unless you
have field codes displayed (Alt+F9), and if it's part of text that is
produced by a field, then the only solution is to get rid of the comma in
the field or in the text the field is picking up.
