Characters displaying as blanks

Hi

I have a document in which some characters are displaying as blanks.
They magically appear when I type a character like a space in front of
them. The display inconsistently some characters are displayed and
identical characters elsewhere in the document are not displayed.

The document displays correctly on my desktop. This problem only
occurs on my laptop.

Any ideas?

This could possibly be a damaged font. Do a Select All, then change
everything to a different font and see whether the problem still occurs.
