Characters shift & become jibberish on their own

I have an on-going problem that happens at least once a day...but usually 4
to 5 times a day - with no apparent cause.

In MS Word, I'll be typing a document, when suddenly, the text/characters
"shift" their spacing - ending up with some of "garbled" up on top of each
other. The spacing of elipses shifts so bad that you can barely see that
there are three dots...and some of the spacing in-between letters diminshes
to almost nothing.

I's important to note that these same symptoms result with no known pattern.
(I.E. - sometimes it happens WHILE I'm typing...sometimes it happens when Im
NOT typing...etc)

The only way I can "fix" this problem is by completely rebooting my
computer. ...Just exiting out of Word and going back in doesn't fix this.

Help!

This is usually a printer driver problem. Is the printer driver locally
installed and set as the Windows default? Is it up to date? Do you maybe
have a fax driver which may be getting set as default on occasions? When it
happens again, try switching to Print Preview and then back to Print Layout
View.
