Chart accessibility in a shared workbook

Hi,

I have a workbook that contains two charts.
There is no protection on the workbook or the sheet that contains the charts.
The workbook is shared to permit people to update it simultaneously.

People need to put these charts in other documents and the ususal method for
this is to select them both by holding down shift and clicking each one, and
then copying and pasting.

However, the problem is that when the workbook is shared the charts cannot
be selected. Is there anyway of sharing the workbook and allowing people to
edit/select the charts?

The help on features not available in shared workbooks states that you
can not,

Create or change charts or PivotChart reports although You can view
existing charts and reports.

The restriction means you can not change the charts formatting
properties or copy it. Values within the chart will update when the
underlying data changes.

So no you can not manually do it. But a quick test would suggest that a
macro could be used. I was able to copy the chart and paste it in
another workbook. The data was still referencing the shared book but you
can also change that as required with code.
