Chart Animation

I have created a "Line Column on 2 Axes" chart and have applied animation to
it selecting "By Series" in the chart options. When the animation plays, the
columns are displayed first and then the line.

Is there any way to influence the sequence so that the line is animated
first and then the columns? The Re-Order option is greyed out and not
available.

You'd have to reorder the data on the datasheet.

Because of this, I often find that I need to ungroup the chart, regroup the
lines / columns, and animate those as appropriate.
