Chart data labels default back to previous formatting when save+cl

For a chart created in Powerpoint 2007 - The data labels font size is reduced
and colour changed to white (to suit background better). The problem is that
when the presentation is saved, closed and re-opened...they are back to black
colour, not white like when they were saved.

Any ideas?? Need urgent help!

I saw a semi-solution for when the chart is in excel and copied-pasted to
keep source formatting, but my problem is when the chart is created directly
in powerpoint...

Thank you for the help...

How are you saving? As PPTX or as PPT?

Is the chart an old-style MS Graph chart or a "regular" PPT 2007 chart?
(That is, does it look more like the Excel interface, or is it like the old
charts?)

The chart changes when you re-open the presentation, or when you re-open the
chart itself?

Hi Echo,
Thanks for the reply.
