Chart Marker Styles and Legend Font

I have graph with 30 sets of data but format data series
only provides for nine Marker Styles. Is there any way
of adding to the number of Marker Styles available?
Also, different colors will not help as the output will
through a b/w printer.

Also, is it possible to change the font of individual
text within the legend rather only the global changes
available through the Format Legend dialogue box?

Thank-you

Topic 1:
Using the drawing tool or a drawing program, make a suitable marker
Make a test chart
Select and Copy your new marker
On the chart, select the data series and use the Paste tool or CTRL+V
Your marker replaces the original marker.
Now you need to experiment with the 'drawing' to make the maker the correct
size.
You can also use clip art or photos if you make them small enough

Topic 2:
Not possible, mores the pity. Are you trying to get superscripts? Remember
that ALT+0178 (on numeric pad) gives super 2, while 0179 gives supper 3.
If these are used in the naming cell, they show in the legend.

Actually, you can format each legend entry independently. Select the
legend then the specific entry (two single clicks), then format its text
the way you like. As Bernard points out, you cannot break down the
legend entry to the character level to get superscripts and subscripts,
but there are technical fonts that have superscripted and subscripted
numerals as regular characters.
