Chart Question

Hi
I wanted to draw a line chart.
No big deals.
But:
The line always shows a light grey shadow below
the red line.
(I chose red).
I tried to format it, used the thinnest line
etc. but the greyish shadow is always there.
How can I get rid of it?
I double-clicked on the line and checked all
entries, but could not find an option
disable or enable shadow.
Nay help?

Hi Kay -

Which version of Excel? If 2004, click on the line & take a look at the
Formatting Palette's Chart Colors, Lines & Fills section... There is an area
that pertains to the Line with a checkbox for Shadow. Clear the check.

Or, Ctrl+Click the line, choose Format Data Series and on the Colors & Lines
page the Shadow checkbox is located in the Marker properties, not the
properties of the Line... Pretty logical, huh :)

Hi
thanks for the quick reply.
Would be logical if the checkbox would not be greyed out.
It is set to shadow but greyed out.
Because style I chose no data points
If I choose data points to automatic, only then I can
deactivate the shadow.
But I do not want data points in the diagramm.
So from my point of view, it is confusing:
You get shadows if you draw a line without data points.
No option for that.
Wrong.
You have to choose a layout for datapoints, deactivate
the shadow and then choose no data points. And then it works.
Thanks for your help
Kay
