chart shading

I would like to indicate the area of the chart that shows
the customer's savings by shading it. how would i do this?

Depending on what kind of a chart you have, you might be able to use a stacked column or area chart (or actually, two chart series). For the lower one, set both the Border and Areas to 'None' (double-click the chart the select the Patterns tab).
