I am running Excel 2000 under Windows XP on my laptop. Under the
Tools:Options menu on the Chart tab, there is a check box labeled "Chart
sizes with window frame". The box is checked. If I uncheck the box the
check mark disappears, but when I click 'OK', nothing happens to the chart
and the zoom control in the toolbar does not activate. When I open the
Tools:Options menu again, the check mark reappears. It will not turn off. I
have tried uninstalling and reinstalling with no effect. I have compared
settings with my Excel 2000 installations on my desktop systems at home and
at work (which both work correctly) and there are no obvious differences.
Any ideas about what might be wrong and how to correct it would be
appreciated.
