I suspect you are refering to the name of a variable in a
summing/totaling query.
The way to change this is to go the query and at the to of
the variable column, place the desired name with a colon
before the variable name. Let's say the variable
is "income" than you would write "Total Income:Income"
(without the dbl quotes). Hope this helps.

there is no query its just a table and goes to chart the
name in the table is correct but when it goes to chart
somehow its putting that in front of my names

Okay, now I got it. When you create a pivot chart in
Access, there is an underlying excell type table. The
names for this column are automatically assigned and as
far as I know cannot be changed. As soon as I change the
names I lose the table. It is possible to create a pivot
querry first and than base the chart on this pivot table.
In the pivot table you do have some control over the names
of the variables.
You may give that a try.
