I have Excel 2000 and am trying to create a chart. There is a list of names
addresses cities states & zips.

What I want to do is create a chart that shows the relative difference
between how many stores are in AZ compared to NJ ,etc. I thought a pie chart
would show that best but it doesn't have to be a pie chart.

I have headings across the top of each column
Name | Address1 | Address2 | City | State | Zip
| Phone |

with the appropriate data in each column. There may be 20 stores in some
states and 2 in some other states.

I tried selecting the data and clicking charts and all I get is a mess.

How can I create such a chart from this data?

Thanks

Hi Dig,

What you want to use is the PivotChart feature:

- Place your cell pointer in the list.

- Go to the menu and select Data -> PivotTable and PivotChart Report.

- Opt to create a PivotChart, then click Next.

- Verify that your data list is selected, then click Next.

- Click Layout.

- Drag the State button from the right to the area marked Row.

- Drag the State button from the right again, this time to the area
marked Data.

- Click OK.

- Click Finish.

- Change the chart type to Pie.

Cheers,
