I have a spreadsheet that I track financial data (mutual funds) on a daily
basis. There are numerous worksheets with many cells. In Office 2000 (my
current version) everything runs FINE even with an older PC (I just upgraded
to a dual core processor system). But after I've brought the spreadsheet
into 2007 Beta 2, it's EXTREMELY SLOW.
On the first worksheet, I only enter data and have a few small calculations.
Working on this sheet "feels" normal and everything is fast. The second
worksheet has calculations from the data on the first sheet, and then has
*two* graphs to plot the data. Just to drag and select a few columns is
slow, but tolerable.
From there on I have calculations from the data on the first page, but then
*six* graphs per page tracking the data. Just to select "todays" column
(adjacent to yesterdays column) so I can ctrl-r to copy my equations from
previous tracking numbers to todays tracking numbers takes VERY LONG.
Seconds even just to click at the top, drag down, and select only 46 rows?
That's way too long.
Any idea why it's sooooooo...... slow, even compared to the same spreadsheet
on a much slower PC with Office 2000? Besides turning of recalculation
(which I shouldn't have to do), is there a fix for this?
Thanks!
