Charts in PPT have a background & border Ican't find how to change

Version: 2008
Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: intel

I converted some pie chart slides from Office X to 2008. The charts themselves started out border-less with no background fill. Now they have a blue border with a white B/G & I can't figure out how to change it back to no B/G and no border.
