Charts & Numeric Fields for Linking (?)

Can I have numeric linking fields (Parent/Child) in the SQL
that feeds my charts without the chart using the those
fields as "series" in the chart?

What I'm after here is a report that will print a separate
chart for each month, in proper chronological order. I've
inclued a Year field and a Month field to "link" the chart
and report, but that's really screwing up the chart.

Your problem sounds similar to one I had a while back.
Yes, the linking field can be numeric and does not have to be part of the
chart. I did find that it MUST appear on the report - you can make it
invisible if you don't need it to be seen.
You may have already figured this part out, but from what I hear you saying,
your report needs a Month grouping, and the charts should be in the Footer
for that Group - the Detail section will be empty.

Yup. That's how I've got it, but I'm still up a stump.

If you look on the Data tab of the property sheet for the chart, the linking
fields do not have to be part of the SQL of the Row Source property.
However, somewhere in the report you must place the linking field.
In mine, the linking field is synonomous with the Group to which the chart
applies. I place the linking field (with visibility off) in the Group Header.
