Check for Updates Freezes at 51%

Win Me / Office XP/ NOD32 AV/ Spybot S&D/ SpywareBlaster/ BHO Demon
Just recently I cannot get past 51% on Office Check for Updates-
Cntr-Alt-Del shows Office Update -Internet Explorer NOT RESPONDING -I End Task
Any thoughts on repairing?

The closest I can come is to tell you to get ME out of your system and install XP Home or Pro
