Office 2003.

Hi,

In several MSword file's (up to hundreds c.q. thousands) that are stored in
different directory's we use hyperlinks to several Excel FILES (insert-
hyperlink- file)

When a user saves the linked Excelfile to another directory or is saving the
latest version to another excel filename the hyperlinks in the Wordfiles are
not linked to the newest Excelfile.
Is there a way through vba or a different way to show the user all connected
word documents before saving to another directory or saving as another
filename if such a link (or more links) exists ?

I know how to check Multiple Word documents on broken hyperlinks, but now I
need a check from the targetted file....

Can anyone help me out here?

Thank you.

Hi,

Without testing all possible files that could potentially contain links (eg OLE/DDE links - not just hyperlinks) to the workbook,
there is no way to tell whether such a link actually exists. That's because the linkage data are necessarily contained in the link
target, not in the link source.
