Check in Projects Problem Project Pro 2007

When I Close my project in Project Pro 2007 using the x Close Window option,
the project can be checked in properly. Meaning I receive the message box
asking if I want to save changes to the Project and asking if I want to
check in the project. The project is then checked in (causes no Cache
problems) or error messages if I try to open the project again later.

If I use the File Close option: I may receive the same message box or I may
not, then regardless if I select Save and Check in the project is not checked
in. I then receive the message: This project cannot be opened in read-write
mode becasue a previous checkin for this project is not complete. Do you want
to open this project read only?

I did discover though that if you wait a few minutes and reopen the project
then it opens fine.
Is anyone experiencing the same problem with Project Professional 2007?

Are you sure?

In MSP2007, you need to do "File then Close" (Do you want to check in the
file?) then "File then Exit".

If you just do a "File then Exit" or just click on the "X" in the corner,
the file will be left checked out.

Also, you need to keep MS Project 2007 open while the 'save' and 'publish'
is still in progress. If you close early, it may not complete properly.

Yes,
We have tested the closing repeatedly and have found that the projects are
checked in when we use the x but when we use the File Close option there is
considerable lag between closing and the project being available to open in
read/write mode due to unsuccessful check-in. The x that we selected is to
close the open project not to close Project Pro application. So, is the real
problem the fact that you have to wait a short period before reopening the
project or accessing it in PWA.

I think its best to kepp MS07 open while save/pub function is beng done. I
have instance when I have x out too soon and the checkin process is not
completed properly. Thereafter when trying to open again, it sez the project
is in use by another instance or something like that.

The work around is to get into PWA force a check in and then open it once
again in Ms07
