Check phone number pop-up

I am using Outlook 2003 and trying to start using the BCM V2 upgrade on XP Pro.
In Outlook I can click on one of the phone number titles (eg Mobile) or
double click the underlined phone number, and a Check Phone Number box pops
up ... if I click OK the number echos back in the full international format
(which I need for my CTI software from LG to work and auto dial across the
network to the handset on the desk) ... beautiful ... however, on the
equivalent default contact form for a Business Contact in the BCM this Check
Phone Number functionality doesn't seem to exist ... am I missing something?
is there a work around?
