Check the number of users using the product key

Hi,

I work in a big organisation and my team had purchased some VLK (Vloume
Licence Keys) for project 2003. the previous person in charge had handed out
several copies of the Project cd to ppl at work but did not keep a record of
how many ppl have installed the software. We are currently expanding and have
new project managers who need project 2003 installed. The problem is i know
we had around 26 licences and am sure not all of them are being used, but i
do not know how many more licences i can still use or if we have already
installed more than we could. I am trying to avoid buying more licences cuaz
we are upgrading to 2007 in 3-4 months ...

so the question is .. is there any way to check how many copies have been
installed using tht product licence, other than actually goin to every
computer and then checking the product key on them ???

any help will be appreciated

Probably no easy way for the desktop version. Does IT not remote access
to the machines so that they can check? This is a bit clunky but better
than walking around.

This is something that your organisation needs to audit regularly to
prevent the use of unlicensed software on its network. You can get
admin applications that provide lists of installed applications on
various machines and that might be a way forward.
