Checkbox to open an optional section

Definitely Diane!

Create you true false field and put it in your view as a check box.
Then in the properties of your section go to conditional formatting.
When check box is false hide section.

Then when the box is checked(true) the section will display. Could reverse
it if you wanted the opposite, to uncheck and become visible.

Thank you Clay for your response, I was doing it completely opposite of what
you just mentioned! Now it works.
