Checkin /check out read ony ISSUE /Pls help

I have an issue in a project:
- I open my project in read/write mode
- I open the task update pop up
- I validate the lines and request to update the plan with these
validations.
- A this time, the project is now in read only mode, and check out. So
it' impossible for me to access in read/write mode anymore. ( now the
project is checkin : waiting to be processed )

This issue occured at least 2 times already in this project, but i
have also the same issue in other projects.
