Checking for duplicate entry

Dear all,

I have a spreadsheet of about 50,000 names. Is there any Excel
function I can use to check for duplicate names in the list. I did the
tedious approach of sorting the names and gave up. Is there a more
easier and productive approach. I am using MS Excel 2000.
